I did not find the "horribarbis" name in the Cactus Family book which usually lists all the validly published botanical names, and sometimes some non-valid ones up to 2001. Where was this botanical name published besides at this link?
http://www.cactiguide.com/cactus/?genus=Cereus&species=horribarbis
And the synonyms are....Cactus peruvianus & Cereus peruvianus, which are synonyms of Cereus repandus, That would make this a monstrose form of Cereus repandus.
Probably what it is...
So, now what do we do?
I can just switch it over... or I can talk to the folks at the Huntington and see if they have any other ideas.
As far as switching over goes, I have many that need switching over, which I have been asking since November '04.
What you need to do is list them for the staff, and they will usually take care of that
I've already done that, a few times, at the point where I realize and decide that it needs to be done.
