Brundidge, AL(Zone 8b)

I am sorry to say I think I have the SB on a cutting. I am sending a leaf that looks like it might have it, to be tested, I must say that my county extension was very helpful please keep all cuttings from me separated from your others till I get the results back. Thanks all I am truly sorry to have to tell you this, but I might have sent you the chicken poxs!! Just a little light humor :~))

Springsong, I have not heard about any symptoms of SB on leaves so maybe it is something else. Maybe Monika will come along and let us know. I have only heard about symptoms on the stalk. So lets pray for your brugs!

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Kell, especially on yellow Multis, the leaf stalk and the leaf itself is affected too. In my book, the two pictures show the typical signs of SB on CG.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I will go look now Monika. Maybe I better add that to the SB thread. I never noticed any bad leaves in all the pics, shows you how observant I am! Which gets the spots first, stem or leaf?
Thanks Monika!

I will still hope for you Springsong! I have noticed so much on my stems lately and it all has turned out to be nothing bad. I hope that will be in your case also!

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

I never noticed this, but I am not showing the translation for the pictures,on page 87,I never noticed this before.

Spring, did your extention only ask for a leaf?

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

All mine still look fine Amanda, but thanks for the heads up! Which variety do you think might be affected? Thanks :) Gretchen

Brundidge, AL(Zone 8b)

It is on one of my unnamed deep pink sauveleons I will post a picture here later. Yes the extension only asked for a leaf if that was all that it was on right now. I am taking it to them tomorrow .

Brundidge, AL(Zone 8b)

here is a picture I hope it is good enough to show it

I tried to lighten up these pictures to see if that would help

I would isolate the plant to see, if it will grow out. It doesnt look like SB to me right now.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Beautiful quilts! I wish I had the patience to be so creative. I'm good at starting projects but lousy at getting them finished!

You're pictures don't look too bad to me either. I think cool temps with high humidity can cause unwelcome fungal growth. It's better to heir on the side of caution. I'd isolate like Monika said just in case. Hopefully it will turn out to be nuthin.

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

I just checked my Suave Deep Pink and it looks great, AND has a tiny little bud!!! So, I hope that makes you feel better... :) :) :)

Marshfield, MO(Zone 6a)

What it looks like to me is possibly nutrient deficiencies, have you been fertilizing them in the greenhouse? Are there any spots on the leaves? Those were on the stems. Are the leaves looking curled or crinkled?

Brundidge, AL(Zone 8b)

i hope you are right i have not fertilized them. i am starting to this week.

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

This is a really dumb question... Are you supposed to deprive them of fertilizer/nutrients in the Winter? I've been feeding my 1/2 strength 20-20-20 Peters ever since they established roots...................... Thank you! Gretchen

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Spring, what I can see looks almost like bug bites on it,nice quilts,(that comes fom DW)I had to show her them.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I've hand made 11 quilts and it takes me about 250 hours to make one. $350 if it is hand made is a great price.

Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Yes Spring the quilts are beautiful! My Grandmother used to make quilts like these. My Brother has one she made for my Father the double wedding ring like the ones in the photo.

Ellabell, GA(Zone 8a)

Springsong, I saw some spots like that on a Brug the other day and it just about stopped my heart, lol.
I started to check it out closely and realized that every morning there's condensation dripping off my greenhouse roof onto the plant. Then strangely enough the water always follows the same path as it runs off. It goes down the branches to the Y and then down the trunk. So every morning there's this tiny river that always goes over those spots.

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

Are those those little brown pots raised areas, it kind of looks like Scale to me, a "honest to goodness bug!"

Marshfield, MO(Zone 6a)

Kaufman, I didn't fertilize my brugs this winter in one of the greenhouses, and they don't look good now, lots of signs of nutrient deficiencies.

Now that I look at the pics again, they do look like they might kinda be raised. If they are, I would have guessed scale, too, but that is one of the bugs I have never seen on my brugs. I see scale often on my gardenias, but never on the brugs.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

My favorite is the white one with all those pink little flowers. So pretty! (Hear that Brugie????? LOL)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Kell, I burned out on making quilts. I still have the one for my oldest BIL and I'm not sure I'll ever get it finished. We don't even have one. LOL!!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

We are using the ones grandma made.

Spring..sure hope it turns out to be nothing, no SB.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Shoot Brugie! Well I tried! LOL

Gloria, I bet they are worth alot of money not to mention the sentimental value. Will your kids love them also? I would love to have something from my grandparents like that.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

I also have several that my grandmother made and I cherish them. When I see all those tiny stitches made by hand, I am so amazed. When my Daddy passed away, I got the quilt that my grandmother made for him and my stepmother. It is the wedding ring quilt.

Brugie, is there not anything that you cannot do?? I would love to do this some day but I would have to give up some other things in order to find the time.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh my!! And guess what, my bed is a king size! LOL Is this a close up of the one I picked from above Springsong?? Too beautiful!! Though 3 of my cats sleep with me and knead on my comforter. The white would soon be a mess. But I do have my boy's room to do over now that he is graduating from college! The little wheel is turning!

Woodburn, OR(Zone 8a)

I used to make quilts too, I don't have time any more, there's too many other things to keep me busy!

Brundidge, AL(Zone 8b)

I am SB free thanks everyone

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)
