Mountain Magic

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

She only had one bloom but it was worth waiting for. If she's like her sister she will darken up even more tomorrow.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

So pretty ... your whole mountain series is!

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

The color is just SO intense! What a great job you did Terry!
Just out of curiosity, can ya hold a ripe tomato up to her? I would love to see how close you are to getting the long awaited red here in the states.

Mesilla Park, NM

What a wonderful color (envy here)... To be able to have these at this time of year, in bloom, where you live is really something.. I know you guys have greenhouses, but the work and determination that goes into each of your wonderful creations is really something to be admired, not to mention the wait you have. Thank you for sharing your photos with us. I can hardly wait till my seedlings grow up.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

This sister to Mountain Treasure is a great looking brug. I love the color of both of them and the depth of the color as well as the great shape makes it one that will be forever a "keeper".

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

Wow that's gorgeous.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Just lovely . . even if there is only one bloom. No doubt it will have many this summer. I know you are looking forward to the second year of blooms from all of yours.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Beautiful color, Terry.

"down the Shore", NJ(Zone 7a)

Fabulous color and form!

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Snow your mountain series is fabulous! so glad you have some winter blooms (80s here, whew!)

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Thanks everyone. After finally seeing some of the Mountain series bloom first hand I am very happy with the results and I want to thank tiG and Shirley again for growing these seeds out for me as I never would have had the room to grow them myself and they might have been lost forever.
Shelly, I haven't seen a ripe tomato since my garden. The hard tasteless tomatoes they are selling this time of year I don't waste my money on. LOL
kell, this is a cross from two of my garden favorites, Butterfly x EP.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

So if you cross them to each other, you will be solidifying the darker pink genes in the offspring. Is this right? Then if you take 2 of the darkest pink offspring of those seeds in that pod in the second generation, and cross them you will even cut down more on the other genes, keeping the dark pink ones even more? And then at some generaton, I understand the seeds will almost be identical in each pod, looking like the mother???

I think this is what I put together from Monika and reading about line breeding. It makes sense to me. I could be totally wrong! LOL

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

It is a very beautiful flower Terry!
Kell, to do this, several people have to work together because every seedling needs to be grown out. But I wonder, if we are able to obtain a solid Red like in Roses with no fading color during cool periods.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

I love the Mountain series as well. The colors are so rich.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I bet a few of us here could do it if we get a very special one! I really wish I had the land some of you guys have. Here land is so valuable. Even huge houses are built on no land.

Brundidge, AL(Zone 8b)

This is still one of my favorites, atleast till mine bloom LOL!
