I've just spent a lovely half hour or so reading some information about Summer-flowering Bulbs. The only ones I usually plant are glads plus asiatic and oriental lillies so I had no idea (in this zone) that I could expand into some wonderful less hardy "bulbs".
The information on this site is wonderful (so are the photos) and it has opened up a whole new garden scheme for me. There are also lists (by bulb) of storing, planting, maintaining, cutting and arranging.

Summer-flowering Bulbs
Thanks for the link. I love planting bulbs. There are sooo many to choose from.
I would highly recommend Tigrida (this is not spelled right so couldn't find it in the database and I know its there) to either of you. I bought some last year and they put on quite a show for first year bulbs. The bulbs were very small and I had flowers from the middle of July until frost. Not a lot at a time but still pretty good considering these had been in the ground such a short time.
They also multiplied really well and when I took them out I was really pleased with how many more of them I had.
I was really impressed with the beauty of these even though the blooms only lasted one day at a time, they were definitely attention getters in the garden.
aknapp my palie Theresa calls them Mexican Shell Flowers... she sent me 2 the first winter I was here at this house, but when they bloomed last year there were about a dozen.... really REALLY pretty , like candy

Darius, is "In Back of Beyond" the name of your town? Love that name. How did it get the name? There must be a story behind it.
LaLady... The name is a joke, because I'm so far out in the sticks!
