Did you peel, David? I've found the corky husk tends to mold a lot easier then the little bean inside. If the seeds are surface sown I'd take them out, peel, and soak the beans in 10% bleach solution for 10 minutes or so. Then replant again in sterile medium.

I don't think mold on the seed coat will always harm the bean inside but if they're special seeds ... I wouldn't take a chance.

I've got some of the same seeds sitting on my soil and they have been there almost a week now and no mold on mine. Not peeled either. Don't know what to tell you, but I'd do as Sue says.

I had that problem with some of Susies that I tried, just sitting them on the soil, and also got the mold. Sue told me the same thing.. I peeled them, and most germinated just fine. Wishing you luck David.

Did you boil your soil David?
