EE Odora help

County Roscommon, Ireland(Zone 8a)

I have just got some seeds of Alocasia odora. Does anyone know the best way to germinate these. What can I expect from the plant. I am very new to these and hear about uprights and floppy ones mentioned. Advise would be great.

Sue,I have only done a few from seed,I was told by Eclipse to mimic nature,so I sowed on top of soil, really just barely patted in,I did mine outside, but you might want to do them inside if you can.
I use a 50/50 peat and potting soil mix, keep moist and give as much light as you can, temps may play a role,so keep them about 70º or above.
What do they look like?are they fresh?

I'm not really sure what I'm looking for but I'll describe the seeds. I bought them from a mail order company. They are fairly small and round (just a bit bigger than a hedychium ginger seed, some are darker than others and all seem to have a mottled grey look to them, the mottled grey feels a bit hairy!

I'm wondering if you need to give them a presoak,I sure hope one of the Pros come along with better guidance.

Doc ,Remember last year Eclipse said something about the seeds must be fresh with the goo still on them ?? I can not find the post or would do a link... Did you save any of your A.Mac sprouts ?
