Ingredients
1 cup butter
2 cups white sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 cups cake flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
2 tsp. ground ginger
1/4 tsp each of ground cloves, nutmeg, cardamom
1 1/4 c. buttermilk
Procedure
Cream together sugar and butter. Beat in eggs, one at a time, add vanilla. In another bowl, mix together dry ingredients. Alternating flour mixture and buttermilk, slowly add to sugar mixture. Pour into a greased and floured 9x13 pan. Bake in a 350F preheated oven for 35-40 min or until cake tests done.
