All you guys worrying about your pets getting into your brugs....look what my bird did to this brug......
and he (unlike the brug) suffered no ill effects...but he's a wacko anyhow so maybe I wouldn't notice......
it was being composted anyhow,so it was by the door by his cage when he escaped.....he also ate my DH's leather recliner...not a good thing.......
Cockatoo damage
He looks so innocent...LOL
I know what would be for supper!
The cockatoo I had use to rip switch plates off the walls along with the plaster when she escaped. She also detroyed any and all cordless phones or remotes.
How's it going living with the two of them?
LOL Monika, he does doesn't he! They are beautiful, CC! I am surprised Koko did not get sick.
My featherless wonder bit little holes all over my DH's leather chair when he and I moved into my DH's office where the computer was. Boy, it was not a good day when my DH finally noticed them. I did the old, oh those are so old, been there for ever routine. He fumed! LOL
Looks like Koko's saying "Who me"! They are both beautiful.
They have such "innocent" faces....hard to believe that they could cause that damage. They are beautiful though. Time to get another container I think....maybe put chicken wire around your pots and stems to protect them from "innocent" cockatoos!
Knowing how expensive it is to buy birds, I probably wouldn't have pulled the shotgun out, but maybe a ball and chain on his leg so he can't get to the plants would be a good idea. I'm sure glad he isn't getting sick from all the chewing.
Well you've never seen my recipe for Cockatoo stew!LOL!!
Sorry CC,could not pass it up.
Oh GROSS Root!!!
LOL, he was a busy boy! He looks so proud, aren't birds funny?
OMG CC that's one bad bird you have there. LOLOL!!!!!!
I have one of those "innocent" cockatoos too CC. He is also an escape artist, took all the wood trim from one wall in the bedroom he was in, ate the curtains in the dining room, ate a blue pen(he was blue for over a week), ate a whole pod of brug seeds that was drying on the table........the list goes on. When he gets in trouble and I threaten to pluck and cook him he says "mommy loves Elliot" and looks so sweet.
Wow, Susie. Sounds like Elliot has been a busy bird. LOL
Susie that is too funny!
The blue bird got me rolling.......
Yeah,Koko think he's a good bird and tells me that while he's ripping holes in my couch......
I was talking to Kell one day on the phone and her bird was making a horrible racket. She told me she was going to have to cover the cage so he would be quiet and we could talk. As she was walking to the cage, I heard him say "Whatcha doin? I thought I was going to die laughing. Smart bird.
What a funny thread. Sorry about all your damage CC, but the other stuff is a hoot! Thanks for a much needed laugh!
We saw one for sale at a big flea market in Mobile a few years back. It was sitting there saying here kitty, kitty, kitty. My husband and I both looked at each other and said cat toy!!!! We had 10 cats at the time. We laughed so hard.
Kyle (Eclipse) used to have over 100 parrots & used to raise them. we had one woman in our club that had more than 300 parrots.she wanted to buy a pair that was over $25,000.i could buy a lot of things for that kind of money, even a few plants.
Elliot says here kitty kitty!! I remember the commercial where the bird said "kitty kitty" and then when the cat came up to the cage, the bird barked real big like a dog and scared the cat. The end of the commercial shows the cat with bird feathers in his mouth! That is what is going to happen to Elliot one day!
My Baby says MEOW and sounds just like a cat! He also says cockadoodle baby doo when he is chuffed.
I had no idea that Kyle raised so many parrots. Anyone know what kind?
Y'all are too funny! Can't imagine living with a bird that talks. What do you do when you want them to be quiet? Do they mind you?
We cover Elliot up with a blanket when we want him to be quiet. Sometimes he tugs at the blanket till it falls off the cage, then he screeches. He is currently in the laundry room. I told him it was either the laundry room or the stew pot if he didn't quit screeching! He looked at me and said "Elliot is a pretty birdie".
Kell, I bet your bird is a hoot!
The towel over the cage used to work but recently he even screeches when I have that on. He is good until about midnight then he wants out again. I scream at him TALK ENGLISH!!!! The louder I scream the louder he screams!
My cat is usually with me then lying in front of my keyboard and I really do not feel like playing with him then. So now I have to also turn off the light and type with a flashlight shining on my keyboard. He is so spoiled!
Elliot is much bigger and probably smarter than Baby. But I am amazed at how smart Baby is! He sure has me doing his biddings.
Koko ate the blanket I put over his cage....pulled the whole thing in as far as it would go and shredded it
I wish I had seen that commercial, that had to be hysterical....
I'm really surprised my birds don't make other animal noises, although the Macaw sometime sound like she's imitating the peacock screech, but you'd think they'd bark,or meow,or crow...LOL
When the 3 of them all get going Chuck pulls out his squirt bottle and that shuts them up for a little while.....
LOL!
