Liriope Plants

Morristown, NJ(Zone 6a)

I know the ground is still frozen in many areas, but if you plan to thin out your Liriope plants that are hardy in zone 5, Can you keep me in mind for a SASE or Trade, I want to try these plants this year. I have a perfect place for them.
Thank you in advance!

Ya know my Mother was just saying this past weekend that she wanted to thin her's out this year. Her's is the varigated type. I'll see if I can talk her into doing it and I'll check back here to see if anyone else has offered you some.
So this is only a "maybe" K?
So if any one else has some to offer, go ahead with your trade. I'll be in touch.

I have loads of the dark green that you may have for postage - How big of an area are you planning to fill or border??

Mollybee - thank you so much for your reply.

Azalea, I would love some of your Liriope, I see your in GA in zone 7, are these plants also hardy in 5/6 zone? I have seen them in the catalogs for different zones, I need the cold hardy type. How fast do theses plants multiply? I am looking to fill a boarder approx 3 ft by 8 ft. I have never had them, just saw them in one of the catalogs and it seemed perfect for the shaded area I have picked out.
Keep me posted!
Thank-you

I'm sure it would live there for you. One large clump can be divided many times and it then forms clumps sort of like hosta. You might need 2-3 clumps tho for that size area. The roots are pretty heavy, they have nodules on them like peanuts - not sure what the postage would run. It wouldn't need to be priority tho. Give me a few more days til the weather clears a little, I can dig some and wash the dirt of the roots and weigh them.

Moda, if your deal falls thru, let me know, I've already cut mine in two and dug it, have it piled up in the throw away bed, if you still need it let maybe we can work up a deal.
