Stormy is having a relapse

Belleville, IL(Zone 6b)

Seems as if the infection she had earlier has returned and spread to other joints in her body. The vet showed me an x-ray of her chest area and some of the bones there are affected. No wonder she cringes and sits as soon as she finishes outdoors.
I took her Friday because her foot was swollen and she got some pain meds and I was supposed to bring her back in a week. But she seemed to get so much more painful that I just didn't want to wait.
She is now on some more powerful antibiotics for a couple of weeks. Already she is resting better. They seem to go to work really quickly once she gets them. She also is taking medicine for anemia. I sure hope it is not serious. Maybe because she is fighting an infection, the vet wasn't sure why she was anemic.
I hope this clears up for good this time. I want her to be able to romp around with her siblings and have fun for a change. Sigh!
She did well for a week after she finished the antibiotics she had taken for nearly 5 weeks. I hope this new antibiotic will kick it completely out of her little system. It is just so sad to see her down.
The vet tech wanted to try this new product that just came out called pill pockets which is an easy way to administer a pill. It is a soft treat with a pocket in it that you place the pill in and then squish it closed. Aside from being chewy, Stormy got her first pill at the vet's office. I declined to buy a bag of them though, as she gets her pill inside canned food right now and seems to work well.
But it sounds like a cool way to give a pill to a hard to fool dog.
