I was given some milkweed seeds, and heard they need to be refrigerated first. So mine are in the fridge downstairs and I will plant them in March.

Karrie, due to where you live (i.e. Zone 5b), you can winter sow your seeds directly out of doors if you wish (or rather if you can find any unfrozen ground) But refridgerating them first will do the same thing.
Be sure to plant in a good sunny local :-)

HHmm I wonder if I should do that too with some, I still have a big pot of dirt on the deck with nothing in it. I wasnt sure if I wanted to put this in the ground, long tap root and not sure exactly where I want to put it yet.

Milkweed was one of the first plants we bought for our garden that we put in last fall. We were surprised to find monarch catapillars on it a couple of months ago. It was thrilling to watch them grow. We are blessed to have many different kinds of butterflys frequenting our back yard. Love it. Now I can't wait for the hummers to find it!

I've never needed to chill these. I've even germinated them as late as August with great results. (We are talking about A. tuberosa, right?)

Seattle, WA(Zone 8b)

A. tuberosa is the common Southern milkweed, and may indeed not need chilling. Actually I don't 'know' that any of them need chilling I just always do. :-)
