Looking good jagonjune....your new seedlings will love you for it! ;D

I can tell you are going to love it! :)
June, why do you call it a makeshift greenhouse...that is super looking! and you are making the most of the warmth inside as opposed to the cold outside!
snaps and cerinthe are up one passion vine is up and I do believe the fourth brug may actually be going to makeit also picking way too early blooms off the begonias all are looking healthy
Good going! As I sit here at the computer I look sideways at the 5 packages of sun coleus seeds, tropaeolum peregrinum, tacca chantrieri, and on and on seeds that I'm procrastinating getting going. Tell me more ~ hopefully I'll get motivated to plant.
coconspirator planting buddy just left - we did wave petunias, some tomatoes (10 varieties 2 seeds each), salvia 5 types, sea holly (silver and blue), sapiglossis (one variety), pansies (3 varieties) now to shower and off to work
I have three inch high ornamental MGs in pots for the May sale, Liz, and the rest, I will start this coming wk. So many.....
more stuff up - the black and cherry rose nasturium vines; thunbergia; gazania; dahlberg daisies all moved to GH today made room for lobelia, calendula, coleus, more tomatoes, basil, queenie hollyhocks and other stuff in the propagation area. Have to get the amaranth and celosia done sometime this weekend. I seem to be very slow this year. The grasses are up and doing well. Best tomato plant start I've ever had - very good internodal spacing, nice thick stems.
FIRST TULIP NOSED THROUGH THE MULCH IN THE YARD TODAY - WOW!! Put the begonias and anenomes out in the fresh air today.
Good for you..
I bought some nasturtium seeds called Peach Melba.
They are supposed to be a compact bushy type.
Do you think I could plant them in a pot inside now in the basement under lights.
The package just says to direct sow outdoors after danger of frost.
The first sign of tulips is always wonderful. Mine are up a few inches. I have Scilla in bloom.
My nastursiums seem to be doing well under lights so I don't see why not. Mine are actually ready for their first transplant from the plug tray - will let you know how they take to transplanting.
Ok Thanks ..I think I will plant them today.
Looks like you will have a greenhouse full of plants that will put a nursery to shame...your yard will be gorgeous this year Lynn. Have you started digging your pond yet?
I just read that rabbits don't like Nasturtiums..
so......I am going to buy lots of seed and ring my special gardens and shrubs with them..and see if it works.
I have lots of rabbit damage all through the year. It is so frustrating to go out in the mornings and see what they have eaten for their breafast.
I also was told to plant garlic in among my roses..so I will do that too.
I did plant the Peach Melba seeds yesterday in a hanging pot..and will let them just tumble over the edge.
We are still having very cold weather here..it might get up to 7c. today. There was frost over everything this morning.
Carol, "Peach Melba" variety is gorgeous! Once you get them going, they won't stop! I found out that if you trim back the foliage throughout the season, they are even more prolific!
Oh thanks Elaine..that is encouraging!
Starzz the nastursiums handled transplant terrifically and they are probably ready for another one but no room so we'll pinch and keep them from growing too much. Will be planting the blacks with the peach color on the outer edge in pots. Updated pics tomorrow.
Lynn, have you ever had the RCMP come to visit?? LOL
Looks great.
Not yet but the banker is looking at my overdraft (from paying the utility bill). I haven't figured out how the criminals tap into the power grid before the meter to get it free (just kidding???)
Thanks for the photos Lynn.
So organized and healthy strong plants. mine are getting leggy so I will pinch them back as you say. And I will transplant them to bigger pots today. It is blowing and cold here today outside and is supposed to rain.
Cheers,
Carol
