I have a few trades of Jacob's Cattle Beans for heirloom tomatoes, heirloom pole beans, SASE or what have you?
These are heirloom bush beans and are unsurpassed as a baking bean, my favorite!

sharan, kooger, marclay;
Your seeds were sent out this morning, please let me know when you receive them. Thanks!
You've got mail. :)
Thanks so much, Red! The beans arrived yesterday! Sure is a lot in there! They're so pretty I think I have to keep a few in a jar until I get more in the fall. Did you leave them in the pods till they were completely dry? thanks, Laura :)
Laura,
Got your poppy seeds today also, many thanks!
I usually pick them just before we get a frost, shell them and then dry them inside the house, stir them once in a while so that they dry uniformly. Be sure they are completely dry before you seal them in their container or they'll start to sprout.
edited to add:
I can remember my Grandfather used to pick them and hang the pods in burlap bags from the barn rafters until they dried. Then he/we would 'thrash' them out when he wanted baked beans for Saturday night!

We will.....my Dad came over this evening and grinned from ear to ear as he took the tomato seeds away to start. He lost his house last fall to a fire and I was so happy to see him enjoying the chance to start new plants. :)
