I have searched through tons of pictures, but I can't tell from any that I've seen where exactly the bud forms. I think I have tiny buds on several plants, and they are in the Y area, at the base of new leaves. Are these buds or leaves? Too small to take a picture of with my camera... Thanks for your help! Gretchen
Where exactly does a bud form?
Gretchen, I've had brugs bud and bloom right in the Y, but generally they make a second Y and start budding. You can usually tell if you are going to have blooms by looking at the leaves. If the leaf sides are equal where they attach to the leaf stem, there won't be buds. If one side is longer than the other, sub equal, you will be getting buds soon. Hope you can follow what I'm saying. I'm tired and have a sinus headache and might not be making myself very clear. Nothing really unusual I guess. LOL!
Gretchen, to see a sub equal leaf, go to Rootdoctor's picture of Maya and look at the main leaf on the right side of the picture. It is sub equal.
Thanks Brugie -- headed there. I hope you feel better!!!
Its really hard for me to tell in that picture. Kind of looks like its coming right out of the Y. Oh well, patience and time will tell me if I have any. It would be a lovely gift if I do...
Cool, Root! Yes it helps a lot. Most pictures are just of the flower and it makes it hard to see where it originated on the plant. I appreciate your posts! Gretchen
Neat plant Root. So clean and healthy looking.
