how do i weight water

can anyone out there tell me how i would go about weighing a cup of water or better yet, does anyone know how much a cup of water weighs. something tells me that its not as simple as filling a regular measuring cup and then weighing it. we are in the process of marketing mozzerella filled riceballs and we need to send a sample as well as the recipe to our local cooperative institute. among the things they require is the weight of everything that goes into making the product. thanks
