polytunnel - help

County Roscommon, Ireland(Zone 8a)

I would like to make my own polytunnel using pvc pipe for the hoops (no joins). The question is: How do I connect the hoops together along the top? I was thinking of joining the hoops at the top but can't get anything that can connect the hoops in 4 directions. I did see a plan for doing it this way but the author said that the 4-way connector were no longer available. There has to be a way! HELP!

I don't know why 4-ways would have been discontinued. Check some other store or go to a wholesale plumbing supply.
Ask a local plumber, he can probably help you.
We used them for a temporary greenhouse one time. Instead of glue, we drilled holes & used ¼" bolts to hold it together.
Made it nice when we wanted to take it down & store it away.

I ordered 4 ways (cross) from
Farmtek, when I could not find
them locally.

Someone posted some instructions from Indiana state extention service on making a greenhouse like that. Don't remember where, though. Maybe a search of your State Extention site would bring up something.

prudence, how big are your poly tunnels gonna be? What width are you looking for?

Thanks all. I have tried locally to get 4-way joints but to no avail. I believe the PVC pipe comes in around 22' lengths so I guess the width would be around 18' wide. As big as I can make it.

The pvc comes standard in 20' lengths. If what you are looking for is crosses, they are available at any Home Depot, Lowes or plumbing supply place.

If you are looking for 4-ways, try here...http://www.snapclamp.com/prices.htm

Hope this helps
