near my daughter's school are three pear trees that bear heavely each year. last year instead of the fruit, that was not picked, rotting and falling to the grown the pears shrunk and turn black and are still hanging on the tree. are there seeds in these that would sprout???
pear tree ???
It is possible that some of these pears were sufficiently mature that the seeds are viable. Two cautions (1) this is a diseased fruit which could be spread to other trees. (2) Pears are propagated by grafting. Seedlings rarely bear quality fruit.
