Hi Kelli Read it is invasive in California. Not even sure it would survive outside a pot in our cold mountain winters.it for a quick screen but did find an article that says the seeds are infertile in US . Thanks

Marclay, if you aren't in any hurry for a start of it, I can root you a reed of it this spring/summer (may even have a small offshoot that I can cut off but won't know till spring). It grows fast in wet/moist areas but does not spread fast in dry full sun areas. The rooted reed will need to be kept in moist soil probably the first year so it can develope it's rhizome like root. I read it is hardy in zones 6 - 10. I live in zone 7b and mine leafs back out every spring and I never mulch it. Mine is variegated and in the spring when it starts it's new leaves, it is almost solid white/cream in color. It puts on a beautiful show with red beebalm in front of it. Later, in the summer, it starts showing it green/white variegation. Let me know if you want me to start you a reed of it.

Hi Sure would appreciate a start in the spring and let me know what you might be looking for in return Shirley

Marclay--postage will be fine when it is ready to ship. But Please remind me--this old mind of mine gets so forgetful at times. I will watch for an offshoot too which would grow faster for you.

Thanks so much Shirley
