I believe there are several different varieties, of Pine Trees that have edible seeds.
I'm looking for one that will grow rapidly.
One I've seen suggested is : Pinus cembroides edulis
Any first hand knowledge about growing pine trees from seed would also be appreciated.
I have a trade list here at Dave's Garden, so if you are interested in a trade, please take a look.
I'd also be interested in Paw Paw seeds.

Not sure if these are what you are looking for.
Some websites say Pinus edulis and Pinus cembroides edulis are synonyms for the same tree. Others say it is a subspecies.
I started some Pinus radiata seeds I collected this fall. The main problem with pine seeds seems to be getting them out of their cones and waiting for them to grow, not so much starting them. All of mine started in a few weeks with no special treatment and are doing fine. However, I'm not going to be able to use them for christmas trees any time soon.
Even "fast" growing pine trees are pretty slow.
Thanks for the help.
