LOL, Doc. Shame on them; they should know better than that.

San Diego, CA(Zone 10a)

I saw it at the nursery and scratched my head. Wondered if I knew as much as I thought I did.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

LOL!And they have a Dat picture in the Brug section!

Colorado Springs, CO(Zone 6a)

haha even IIII can see that one!!! Before i read the rest of the thread, i was like hm, that sure looks like a pretty brug to me. haha you know its bad when a baby brug keeper like me can figure that out!!

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

T&M has been notified over and over about their mis-named brugs and dats. Actually... I think they've made some corrections since their last catalog.

"down the Shore", NJ(Zone 7a)

Last time I checked, they also offer seed of purple Belamacanda, which comes only in orange or yellow.

Edmonton, AB(Zone 3a)

I would like some seeds of that double yellow - specially if they actually turn out that intense. Most of the ones I have seen around here would be more appropriately named cream. Any body else have this problem or is it a condition of feed or location that influences intensity of color.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

I am looking for a Double also, mine turned out all triple last year,it did seem the ones in more shade were creamish.
The ones in sun did have better color.

I sure like your sylvestris Root.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

I have a ton of seeds Liz,let me know if you want some, this is one that stayed alive in the compostpile,so I kept it.
I have the plant still going in the basement, the leaves are a little sticky on them,so it makes a good whitefly trap.LOL!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I like your picture Doc. It really looks like something I could handle in my yard right now. My yellow dats were not a nice yellow. I was very disappointed in them last summer.

Bob, start some for the Roundup. I'd like a couple if you could do that or maybe send me some seeds and I can. Thanks.

Hello Root, which one is the sylvestris. I can't find that name in my book.

Thanks Shirley, sorry Prudence,I did not make it clearer.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Sorry Prudence, my mistake, should have been clearer.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

I had mostly triples last summer too. I don't think that there is a special species for doubles, Doc, but there can be single, double, triple, and quadruple flowers on the same plant. I agree that the yellow Datura Metel looks more cream-colored in shady conditions.

Here's one that was in more sun:

But I think the color begins to fade in sun too:

I got a packet of those Double Yellow Datura Golden Queen from Thompson-Morgan. Not only are they mislabeled a non-Datura species (x candida), and have growing instructions for Brugmansia, the internal seed pouches are labeled Brugmansia. Grumble, grumble, and they only give you about 10 seeds. The seeds do appear to be Datura. Though, I suppose they could be very small Brugmansia seeds. If they ever germinate, I shall be most interested to see what kind of plants they grow up into.

-----

Hmmm...Reread that and it seemed a little overly grumpy. I have to say I look forward to the Thompson-Morgan catalog every year, and the great variety of seeds they supply. I just wish they were a little more generous for the price.
