The leaves on V. Peach are coming out quite a bit smaller these days. The area it is in is very cool and shaded this time of year (only morning sun the rest of the time.) Am I doing something something wrong or is the poor thing just cold and hunkering down for what passes for winter around here?

Versis don't like cold. Did you check under the leaves to see if some tiny mite could be there, watch and they start moving. Sure hope I'm wrong, could be just too cool, if so, will correct itself when it gets warmer.

If it is warm and you are feeding and have no bugs, it should look something like this one, even tho this isn't a near perfect specimen or picture. Versicolors can take brief periods of cold if the ground isn't cold. Make sure you don't keep it wet while you are having cool temps.

I stood on my head in the garden and did not see any mites. Doctored it anyway. I could be wetter than it likes. Cold is a pretty dicy term in these parts. It will be 75 today. I will let that area dry out a bit more and see what happens. I put the plant there because it is cooler in the summer but it may be a bit too shaded for winter. Can't win lol.

Well, I'll take your brug and the cool temps you have. We are going to get up to 34 on Friday and that is almost considered a heat wave. LOL!! I'm sure your brug will be fine in those kinds of day temps. When the ground warms to above 50 at night, it should grow like a weed. At least you don't have to keep them in the house, garage, and shop. I'm tired of running all over the place to check for bugs and moisture needs. Can't wait for May to get here.
