How do I get around? Where and how do you put a have and want list? Thank's Jody

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Jody, are you a new member? If so, you might want to click on Forums on the right side of your screen and go to the Welcome mat and introduce yourself. There are seed forums, plant forums, just about anything you might need to post on to get help, give help, and just talk to people. Welcome to Daves if you are new. Hope you can figure out how to get around in the garden. When in doubt, always look over to the right side of your screen. You will find something there that can help you.

Hi Jody,
Welcome. Just dig in :) It won't be long before you get the hang of it. I'm just learning all of the neat features here myself..just got the hang of the journal..yaaay!

Hi Jody,
This is a big site. Take your time and get to know it, and the folks here.

I suggest you start by clicking on preferences and monkey with the settings, especially the location where you can set your zone. From there, check out other people's trade lists to get ideas on how you want to set yours up, so you don't end up re-doing the whole thing later.

I think the trade list is now integrated with the journal, so you can copy stuff from one to the other. Very cool. Visit some of the public journals to get an idea of how you want yours to work.

When you start setting up your lists and your journals, there are tutorials, but if you have questions, ask. I think you get better answers in the Dave's Garden forum, where the DG experts lurk. =)

In the meantime, hang out in forums that interest you. You don't need to get your list set up to start meeting people, learning, and sharing.

Welcome to DG!

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

Welcome Jody, another newbie here. I became a member in Nov. then a subscriber in Dec. and just love it here. I haven't started a journal yet but am about ready to. I've read quite a few others and that helps a lot. I also went down every link on the right side to find out where everything is and goes! I agree with someone up above - get your zone and location entered soon because when someone reads your questions or requests, the first thing they look at are those two items to see if their answer applies to you! Have a great time in the dg garden!
