Climbing Hydrangea

Seymour, IN(Zone 5b)

I would to find a trade for some cutting of this for a spring trade. I built a new pergola last year and it is mostly in the shade. I think this would be very good to have climb the posts. Lou

I have the climbing hydrangea. Let me know when you're ready and I'll send you several cuttings.

I have never heard of this. Does it grow like a vine? How long does it get? What does the flowers look like?

Thanks, that great to know. I have not seen it around Indiana and I was afraid it might not be zone hardy here. Lou

Here's a link that tells about it. http://www.paghat.com/climbinghydrangea.html

I got so mad at my husband last year. My hydrangea was doing just fine and had filled up a brick wall beautifully. Well, we got ants in the kitchen and had a hard time getting rid of them. The exterminator said that the ants must be climbing up the plant and getting in that way. I thought to myself "What a wierd thing to say." After all, ants can climb up a wall just as well as a plant, plus there were no signs of ants on the hydrangea. The exterminator told my dh this and low and behold, when I got home, he had pulled the whole vine away from the wall. I was livid! Now I've got planks pushing the hyd. back in place, hoping it will reconnect again.
