Opened the Newsletter and went straight to the Plants Database Activity today. It's February in New England (ugh) I needed some pretties! Passed the Swiss Chard and Begonias ... what's Tillandsia cacticola? Palmbob said "wonderful 'airplant' flowers impressive pink lasting..." Well, I've seen air plants in check out lines of CVS, just a dried up piece of coarse grass. Looked up more on the Plants Database. WOW! These blooms are gorgeous! Found more at http://fcbs.org/pictures/prince.htm -I spent hours there. You gotta see these! :) There are 47 of 'em! I can't shorten my 'must have' list to under 15. You must see. WOW! I never knew. You learn something new everyday at Dave's Garden!

Palmbob's Tillandsia cacticola!
Very good website you found. I only wish they would have pictures of the foliages too. I´m having fun there :^)
Found some sites with few pics of foliage for your viewing pleasure:

Sveiks I really enjoyed the photos of the Lady Slippers. I try to stay away from orchids websites because my greed knows no bounds. I was drooling over every lady slipper I saw on the page.....Oh spring where art thou?
Actually, I was looking for airplant pics but got totally immersed in the Paphs and Dendrobiums there! My orchids did not fare well in the move here :( If I keep looking at these pics, I don't know if I can control myself! Spring IS coming ...Spring IS coming ... Spring IS coming ... Spring IS coming ... Spring IS coming ...
I know that you were looking for air plants but since I saw the link to the Lady Slippers I just sort of lost it.
I am so greedy when it comes to orchids, oh what the heck I am greedy when it comes to any plant lol. I can't seem to control myself I hope you have better luck at it than I do.
I just got into daylilies last summer and now I am fighting another delimma.....will it never end lol.
I'm with you! It's hard to keep control as far as gorgeous flowers are concerned. When I'm browsing the web I make sure my credit card is far far away from the computer. :)
Windsurffer, I pray it will never end - these are fun dilemmas - just take one of those and two of the other! LOL
Lol I totally agree, we could never have enough.
