Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

It's only 10:47 p.m. here right now, but this will likely be posted after midnight. Different time zone, etc. I've been up since about 4:30 this morning so one would think I would be exhausted. But I'm still pretty wide awake. I did just take my bedtime meds tho so hopefully sleep isn't too far away.

Jack had to have 2 more varicose veins in his esophogus tied off this morning. We got home about 11:30. We had been told that if we came early we might be able to get thru sooner so I wouldn't be late for work. I got there in plenty of time. Holly came up and checked on Jack this afternoon. I knew he wouldn't answer the phone and did want him looked in on. Just in case he lost his balance or something like that.

The roads were worse coming home from work tonight than they were going to his appointment this morning.
It started snowing pretty hard after I got to work this afternoon and continued to snow for a couple or 3 hours. I'm guessing we got another 3" or more. It didn't seem to bother folks tho as we had about 70 at the cafe' tonight. I may go in early tomorrow if the bosses' oldest daughter isn't feeling better. Her baby is due the end of the month but she has been feeling like it could come any day for a week or so. It's is her 3rd in less than 5 years so she should know the feeling. On Friday evenings she handles the salads, cold side dishes, helps in the main kitchen, and sometimes helps me at the steamtable and making toast. On Saturdays she comes in about 9 in the morning and washes dishes, helps cook breakfast and lunch, and waits tables a bit when her sister is busy doing other things. I think that lately the 2 girls have pretty well run the place on Saturday mornings and thru noon. The parents come in in the evenings and work thru the supper hour and closing.

GOD bless and keep each and all of you. Think of those less fortunate when you lie down in that comfy warm bed tonight and pull all those blankets over yourself. Be thankful for the stoves that heat our homes and the utilities that make our lives so easy. And the vehicles which take us places and back home reliably.
