im sad

my family cat, sam, who we got as a stray when i was 9 (that makes him 11), was sleeping a lot, and hiding from my mom for days on end. so she took him to the vet yesterday and they found a sore spot- thought it was a cracked bone, so they did an x-ray. what they found was a 1 1/2 by 1 inch tumor in his lung. they're going to drain the fluid in his lungs and do blood work to see if his other organs are at normal function.
so little sammy has cancer, and i'm sad. i hope he's not in too much pain.
