Princeton, IL(Zone 5a)

Very pretty, Mark. I have no idea why I never got any crocus bulbs planted in my yard. I got alot of bulbs through two co-ops, but ended up with no crocus bulbs! Next year for sure!

go for species not Dutch cultivars and they stand up better to the weather.

Bolton, Greater Manc, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

mark I have never been a lover of crocus. To me they alway look so untidy. But yours are beautiful! they look quite short and I love the way the petals lay out flat.

the reason they are out flat is I brought them into the kitchen for them to open in the heat. They thought it was a warm day and bees may be about. They are short. Their trumpets are on 1 inch stems

I love crocus, they are such happy looking little things announcing spring after the long snowy season. Thanks for posting those, Mark, I'm still in the middle of the snowy season, more is falling today.

Thanks so much for a taste of SPRING. Beats looking at the snow cover outside, which I am thankful for.

Mark, If I lived in a climate like yours (we have 18" of snow on the ground) I think two things would happen: I would be broke from buying every bulb on earth, and my knees would always be dirty from kneeling down looking at some little treasure. How many different bulbs do you have, how big a mortgage did you take out on your house to pay for them, and don't your neighbors mind when you start digging up their yards to plant more bulbs?
