Sunshine in my yard.

These daffodils are blooming now. They are scented and on a warm quiet day the perfume fills the air.

How lucky you are to have a bit of Spring right now! I can't wait for the few weeks to pass till I have my bulbs blooming in my yard. Luckily, I am forcing some and will have a few inside over the winter!

My daffodils have one stem/one flower. What kind are these? You sure got lots of bang for the buck!

I don't know the variety, but they do have one stem per bulb. Most of the smaller flowered varieties have multiple flowers per stem. I have a white (paper white), a white with pale yellow cup, and a tiny yellow one that all have multiple blossoms per stem.

The added bonus is that this one is strongly scented. This morning there was no wind and when the sun heated the blossoms the air was perfumed.

My eyes can't be that bad! I see one stem comming up from the plant but then multiple branches off that and each one of those little ones has a flower. The cluster on the right below the tallest one is what I am looking at. Mine just have a stem with a single flower at the top, so this definitely caught my eye. Probably my terminology is worse than my eyes.

I was not clear. There are multiple flowers per stem and this is true of most of the small flowered types.

ok, I got it, thanks. I just have the regular kind, gotta get some of those little guys. I'll see if I can find a name on the plants database.

so there is hope - there is such a thing as spring flowers....sigh - I wonder if mine are hiding under the snow in the yard.

They look like Soliel d'Or. My paperwhites are just about finished. The 'Ice Follies' have started blooming. That variety seems to naturalize better here than the other varieties I've planted in the past, like 'Einstein' and 'Tahiti'. I did get 100+ "California" (?) daffodils given to me by Laguna Hills Nursery. I think they are King Alfred's. Just poking up now, so we'll see in about a month. My glads are up. Got a mix bag of 75 from Costco for $10. Some are 9-10" tall already. Only came up last week. Guess I'll have to think about staking them.
