Dear,
This is a good picture of the aculeata (means 'prickly') I know the plant from his country of Origine, South Africa, and more exactly in the extreme northern part of Mpumalaga and his distribution continios into Zimbabwe. It is found in rocky areas, usually in grassland or open bushveld.
Greetings,
Albert

Thanks

I am told that this is the only one of the prickly leafed aloes that has white bumps (goose bumps) from which the spines protrude. Many have non-margin back-leaf spines but this is the only one with the "goose bumps".

good photo showing this plant key.

good photo showing this taxonomic categorization key.

Excellent pic, Palmbob. The surroundings enhance the character of the aloe. I would print and frame.
