Lipstick Plant - Zebra Striped

hiram, GA(Zone 7b)

Hopefully this is the right forum to post this....DH bought me a gorgeous Zebra Striped Lipstick Plant...brought it home and said I got a good deal, you just need to spray it with soap...it had aphids....but not really bad. Gave it a bath, then sprayed it with soap and water. What else do I need to do with it now? Does it like the same soil mix as african violets? Is it related to hoyas? It's huge, and will probably have to cut some of the 6' length off, how do I root the cuttings? No site of aphids this AM, and I looked with Magnifying glass. Flowers are super cool, green with burgundy and gold insides. I believe latin name is: Aeschynanthus marmoratus - synonym A. zebrinus

Actually Aeschynanthus (aka Lipstick plants) belong to the Gesneriads family and not to the Milkweed family as Hoyas do.
Below find a link which might be helpful to you:

Hope that helps
