Wow, that looks great at full size! What vivid colors! Sometimes I wish I was an insect and could see all the infrared colors in flowers, but I bet this one couldn't be beat.
I had not thought about being able to see the infrared colors like insects do for a long time. I saw a television program that showed what the blooms would look like. It was amazing. I call the little violas my happy flowers. For some reason, every time I look at them I become so much more cheerful. I buy all the different types I can find. They take so little care and can be started easily from tip cuttings. The purples are so hard to capture with my digital camera. I had to adjust the color for sometime for it to be the true color of the bloom.
How lovely, I love these little hard working plants, they add such beauty to my garden.
I like the way you called them "little hard working plants". They are indeed. I like to have as many kinds as I can find. Each year, I plant them in a hanging basket at the front of the sidewalk that leads into the entryway to my house so I can be sure to see them as I enter. Then, I plant them in a hanging basket right outside of my backdoor that is low enough that I can see them closely when I go out the backdoor, but high enough that I can see them through my large livingroom window. I always have to stop and look at them. I also have them elsewhere around my back patio so I can enjoy them closeup. Because they are small, I plant them in small containers that are attached to my fence. I love them too and have planted more of them this year than last year. Thanks for your comment.
I love your idea of putting them in pots to enjoy them as your out on your back porch and from your window. I have a small garden and I plant just about everything in pots but I only have the purple ones but love them all. I will be looking for new ones this spring to add to some hanging baskets of my own, thanks for the idea.
Your wekcome, windsurfer. They also make geat filler plants around the outside edges of containers that have taller growing plants in them.
I have this one but had not thought to put them in a hanging basket,I'll try that. I love how they pop up here and there, so lovely.
I planted some around the outside edges of a hanging basket with a purple blooming stock in the center. I really like this orange one too.

oh yes! I'ii bet that was beautiful, did the stock last for quite a while in there and did you have to pinch or prune it?
Actually, I just planted it. The stock will probably last in my zone until May depending upon when the summer heat arrives. Sometimes I have to prune it if it becomes leggy looking after about 2 months. Some stock I never have to prune, but I do cut the old blooms off.
htop, thanks for the info.

Oh your sorbet is sooo lovely, did you save seeds from it?
The sorbet shows up so well with the orange color. I just planted it a short time ago so I have no seeds as of yet. Thanks for your comments.
