Good Morning to Everyone,
Well, a good case of insomnia this morning. I slept for a couple of hours and here I am up again. I will try some hot chocolate and see if that helps.
I haven't had a day off my work since last Wednesday. And some long days at that. I haven't even worked in my regular lab much. Can't say I ever get bored though.
I guess the biggest news , as it always is usually with farmers, is the weather. A nice sheet of ice went on the ground starting late last night and ending late morning today. Snow on top of that. Hubby took me and picked me up from work, since my old truck doesn't do well on ice.
Hubbies' cousin , the one that is always getting me out of jams , came by and put the chains back on the tractor and fixed a part that had come off while we were brush hogging. He actually had to rig something up since I have had it back ordered and it has never come. It was a piece called a shank, mostly a stabalizer, on the three point hitch. Yesterday when I was trying to feed the cattle I almost got stuck again. But, I was lucky to have the scoop on the front of the tractor instead of the hay spike. I tried to lift the front of the tractor up with the scoop, lock the rear wheels and give it the gas to get out, that didn't work going in reverse, but it did get me out going forward.
Looks like more snow on the way. Glad the cattle have a few days of hay in the feed rings.
The boys were tired and hungry when they came in. I hadn't even started supper , but thought potato soup sounded good. The only onion I had in the house was a store bought red onion. I usually can go out to the garden and dig up an onion or two, but with a sheet of ice I was at the mercy of what was in the frig. The soup turned out to be more of an onion soup that happened to have potatoes in it. The boys were gracious as usual, but seemed to really enjoy the grilled cheese quite a bit.
