THERMO-POND De-Icer failed-

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Poor fish! Has anyone else had problems with this unit? Mine is frozen solid, even the little hole in the middle that is suppose to stay open. I just purchased this a couple of months ago on line. The bad thing is, I couldnt' get it out of the pond to return it if I tried. It's that frozen. I'm going to call the company in the a.m. Thanks- Kristi

That stinks Kristi! Email them a nice picture of your frozen pond and lost pets. I'm sorry about your fishes. Being that ours are all named, it would sure be awful to lose them. Two did disappear last year. Many babies have come to replace them though. ;)

What a bummer, Kristi. Maybe the manufacturer will have some suggestions for you so you can get it out before the spring thaw. With all the snow and ice storms of late, I'm sure that didn't help matters.

I am so sorry to hear about that!! Yes I would contact them for sure and find out what they can do for you. I just purchased one online myself several months back and with our temps right now at -15 with wind chill, my little unit is still doing what it was supposed to do. Not all of ours fishies have names, but most do as do the salamanders and froggies, kids would be heartbroken if it failed on us!!
