Howdy, folks!!
Seems like everyone is busy and not posting. Yup, had a hectic week, but we are going out for supper tonight. That's a nice end to a busy week.
DH got free tickets to a gun show/big boy toy show, so he and three friends are going tomorrow. I will get lots of stuff done if nobody is here. They were going to go on Sunday, but the weather is supposed to turn ugly tomorrow night, and they just don't want to miss drooling over all those guns!!! (You gotta have a gun for every different critter you hunt, you know!! LOL) DH wants to get some fly fishing equipment so he can finally learn how.
The city guys are burning ditches by town today and I'm getting all the smoke. There are wind gusts to 30 mph, so they better keep track of that fire. I don't want to have my barn or house burn down. The flames in the ditches were about 10 feet high when I went by.
Last night I got home late and could hear some mooing and what sounded like the cables on the feed bunk banging against each other. I went and got a flashlight and sure enough, there was a calf tipped over in the feed bunk. DH said that he hadn't been there a half hour before, so it was a good thing that I heard it. He was starting to get bloated already but was OK this morning. If I hadn't heard him, he would have been dead. We had a cow get pushed into the feed bunk once and it was almost an act of congress to get her out of there. Good thing they are so tame. We didn't go near the back legs, but she let us grab her front ones and try to tip her out of there. I never want to go through that again. We thought we'd have to unhook the cables and tip the feedbunk over to get her out. Right now they are in heat so they are riding each other and when they are at the feed bunk, they tend to get a little pushy.
Gotta run. Want to get some laundry done before we go out.
Take care everyone.
