It looks magnificent! I never imagined it can grow so much in such a small pot. I have a 50 cm high one that grew from a small cutting. I look forward to mine coming to be such a wonderful plant.

Eliza, I have to post a pic of my TOO BIG benjamina (it occupies almost the hole wall of my office), and then you can say ..
The fig in the previous picture was innitially a cut taken from this big one (I planted the cutting last year :)

Must be difficult to use your computer with a tree between you and the monitor... Hehe, just kidding. F. benjamina makes great house plants, even though it can turn into giant trees too.

I just got an established Ficus benjamina and it is dropping a few leaves. Should I be concerned?

I have a fig tree that has a disease...and I'm not sure how to treat it! I first noticed that the leaves are sticky! I have cleaned every leaf in the past...but that is just too time consuming.
Tell me ..if you can...what is causing this...and what I should do about it!
The plant appears to be healthy...but I'm even noticing the floor around the plant is sticky too...and surely this can't be a good thing!
HELP!

Sounds like you may have scale insects. I had them on my ficus and there was always sticky stuff on the leaves and even the floor. Check to see if there is any small brown scales on the limbs or leaves. Can't tell you how to control them--I threw out the tree. SheVerne

I have three of these on the patio in large pots. The leaves started drooping, but they seem to have settled down. How do I divide one of these so that it ends up with one predominate trunk? The one I'm thinking of dividing has little "shoots" coming up all over the pot like a bush. I'd like just the one trunk. Thanks!
