Are brugs difficult to grow? A secret admirer.

Lewisburg, KY(Zone 6a)

Hi, I am a hosta/daylily person. The pictures are so beautiful. How long does it take to grow them? What do you do if you live in zone 6? Bring them in?

Teresa,
Most plants started from cuttings would bloom the first year. Cuttings that I received in early spring grew in containers to about 5 ft. tall. Those planted in the ground grew even taller last year. Plants started from seed can take anywhere from 4 months to 2 year to bloom.

In your zone, you would either take cuttings in the fall and/or bring the plant inside. However, most brugs can be stored in a basement or garage by letting them go dormant and only watering about every 4 weeks.

I am emailing you....Nat
