This picture was made in May 2000. We´had a warm and early spring, which is rather seldom up here and I made only a few pictures of Fandangos early flowers, hoping for better ones in the summer.
Fandango in 2000
Beautiful. Did you take any pics in the summer?
I want to be Fandangoed!
But the summer turned out to be a ice age with temps close to the freezing point in July. We had only two very warm summer weeks in August and then cold again. This picture was made in August 2000. Fandango opened her flowers bu they faded away within three days. To my dissappointment, all they had was a hint of color. I had to support the branches because they were loaded with buds and flowers.
Gosh, I guess it was loaded. Too bad about the weather that year but Thank God, it doesn't happen like that every year. You would have to jump on that plane and come to the states to live.
That is just beautiful, Monika. You grow the most beautiful brugs I've ever seen and I don't know how in the world you do it with the weather in Germany.
I love the color and shape of this one and I don't know how you grow such beautiful brugs with your short season and extremely cold weather. You certainly are to be admired Monika.
My climate makes the first selection. But I loose at least one flush.
Has it continued to bloom this heavily? I love the softness of it. Do you still have Petticoat? From the pictures of it, it looks to have multiple skirts.
Fandango has proven to be a heavy bloomer. It flowers in flushes like a versicolor or like Rubirosa.
hope you dont mind Monika--this one wins background of the day award. lololol cheryl
Monika, Such a lovely soft color. Hope your summer this year is better. I would gladly have traded some of my heat for your cool wet. Donna
