here goes....dont laugh..lol..are brugmansia and datura the same?..i have been looking at them and want to get another one or 2...i have one about 36 inches tall....i think its gonna be white....was told it was datura....are either hard to start from seed?....are they easy to start from cuttings?>.....need to find out before i make my purchases....lol

Cindy,they are not the same,Datura are very easy from seed,so most here start the fresh every year,Brugs only come true from cuttings,so that is how they are traded.
I would watch what you spend,unless there is something special you just have to have,I would just ask here,most will send seeds for postage,or cuttings for postage.
How far are you from KC.?can you come to a spring round up?There will be lots of seeds and plants given away and traded.

They aren't the same thing. Brug blooms hang down, datura blooms look up. Growth is different too. Brugs can get much bigger, have flushes of blooms that last several days and datura blooms last one day, two at most if it is cloudy. Brugs are easy to propagate from cuttings, datura less easy and easiest to do from seed anyway. Brugs start easily from seed, but the seed isn't true to the mother plant. The only way to get a plant exactly like another is from cuttings. Hope this helps.

yes i am about 60 miles or so from kc..im just east of sedalia....i wanted to get to the last thing in kc but i couldnt, we own our own business.....this is my first season with my greenhouse so im looking into different things....i got my seeds started and they are actually growing..lol...i would luv some cuttings or seeds if anyone has any....i dont have time to ship things or i would offer to do so..but if anyone is close enuff to come here i would be more than happy to share what i have, either cuttings or plants..lol..i have lots of cacti and succulents and now i have lots of seedlings too...lol...thanks for the info..it will help me lots
