TomTom, love your tropaeoleum, that is my very favorite color. I don't suppose that seed is available here. i looked in T & M. Great picture. Donna

I saw the growth record of this plant in your HP. It's very interesting! The color of flowers and the shape of leaves are so delicately and beautiful!!!

Thank you, Starzz,for your feedback.
This at least doesn't need much fertilizer. I fed it
some Maganp K when I planted it and later gave it
requid fertilizer about once in ten days.

Hi, rutholive.
So do I love blue Nasturtiums, too. I got this seed
in Japan (they are so expensive )
I think T.lepidum germinates more easily than other species.

Thank you ,goldenfish, for viewing my site.
This time I started with the tubers.
I planted them last September but they don't ever
begin to sproutI
They're such obstinate plants. (*^_^*)
But since they're so charming they might be all the more
challenging.

Beautiful plant. This is the first time I have seen this one,I can't wait until spring.

I hope your tubers will come up soon!!

Hi Tomtom I`m from Chile and I want to know if this amazing climber is the same than tropaeolum hookerianum austropurpureum?

OSAKA, Japan(Zone 9b)

Hi pazg,
They look so much alike that they're often said to be the same.
I think they're a little bit defferent though.
Since Tropaeolum species are quite easy to be mixed, it might be extremely difficult to identigy them.
Here I post a pic of T.hookerianum atropurpureum taken in 2006 just for a reference.
