I heard a public service announcement on the radio this week regarding an informational meeting for those interested in doing pet therapy with their dogs. The organization is called Angel Paws. I found some contact information on the web and wrote to the local contact and hope to learn more. I believe this group must be affiliated with Delta Society
Here's an article from their magazine, Interactions: http://deltasociety.org/dsc102.htm
Check this out - a therapy llama! http://deltasociety.org/dsa000.htm
I think Sarah would be a terrific therapy dog, as sweet and gentle as she is. Emma's too young and unruly; she could really do damage with those flailing long legs of hers! Sarah loves to just sit and contemplate things, or to just sit still and be loved on by folks.
Those of you who have met her - what do you think? I wonder if Higgins might be a good therapy kitty; he's really friendly, too, though I've never taken him to any places outside except the vet's.
