spyware

I was very sad to find that the task bar I have in IE is spyware. My search bar had to be put in with weatherbug even though they deny they have spyware. I also heard that the Google's new search bar is spyware. I know I can delete "my search bar" but will that get rid of the spyware? I like the search bar & hate to get rid of it. I'm not sure all that spyware can do but know it isn't good to have.
