I have been getting the most wonderful catalogs in----n since we are all bored ( well I am anyway) I thought I would share my divine theory here with yall, since Hubby didnt comprehend it. Ever notice that spring catalogs start to come in, just about the time of income tax refunds? I believe its an act of nature designed to increase the diversity of our gardens and is in the best interest of the enviroment all together. Yall understand this dont yall?---he just doesnt get it :( we could be saving our planet.... lol

Cheryl, I have been getting some of the flower catalogs. I think about 5 or 6 by now. I love the ones that give you $20 off if you buy $40 worth of plants. I am having a difficult time deciding what I want. Decisions, Decisions!
I got 3 catalogues just yesterday. Park's, Wayside, and Gurneys.
Do any of you ever buy from Collections Etc.? They have some cute gardening stuff in their catalog.

I got a lot of stuff from them last year and was very happy with the quality too.
I am not allowing myself to even look at them. I have gone rose nuts in the last 2 weeks and then went out and bought 5 more last night. I have NO ROOM for any of these. I must be up to 14 new ones of them.

I can't believe you are saying you have no room. You always can find room for another plant when you are a gardener. The stuff on the site I listed isn't plants anyway...just stuff.

I am really missing my catalogues. I guess I have to go sign up all over again since I moved. Actually, I am feeling a little housebound about now so need to go search out all those catalogue sites. I planted brug. seeds today so between my seed sowing and hoya's. That is going to have to keep me for a while yet.

I get alot of catalogs--did you see the Park's one with the var. honeysuckle--just got to have it--I try not to look at them--but I cant help my self!!!! and did you see the one with the var. kiss-me-over-the garden gate? I wish the catalogs came out in the middle of summer when we dont have time to look at them!!!

Here is something to think about--is it true that if you have a clean house it means your computer is broke?
At my place it means the cleaning lady just left.
The baby is doing fine--put her in the garage and she took care of the other cats--call her kitty so far--what size pots do I get and where is the cheapest? cleaning lady? I tell everyone at my house she didnt show up and either did the chef and the maid and the butler!!!
Arlene got some 15 gallon size last year for me for less than $5 each. They sure take a lot of soil, but I don't think those I held over will have to be repotted this year. I'd go ten gallon at the least just because of your working and having to water less with them.

Brugie, I used lots of 15 gallon black grower pots from HD last year. They were under $6 so comparable to yours if you paid shipping I would think. I found I did have to repot them for the roots filled the pot and I had to water daily by the end of the year.
In the spring I just pulled them out, cut the rootball to where I left one third and cut back the canopy by as much. Then added fresh dirt and they just take off. I would like to go to 25 gallon pots but my DH is feeling too old to move such big ones around. Time for me to get in a new model.
I also have some 24 inch pots in terrra cotta plastic. I think they cost $18 which is too high for me to buy alot.
Anyone know how many gallons are in a 24 inch pot?
I didn't have to pay any shipping. Arlene picked them up from the place she ordered them from. I'm feeling too old to move anything bigger than 15 gallon size myself. Jim isn't able to help me, so I'm on my own. By the way Kell, I put a couple of cuttings in the tree pots two days ago, and you should see how they are growing. Amazing. The pots are only about 4 inches wide, but I took the cuttings from two inch wide pots and 4 inches deep and now they have all the depth in the world to grow into. At least 14 inches is a lot of depth for inside growing.
I really think that is ideal Brugie!! Tracey sent me lots of pots this week. They are deeper than the average 4 inch pot also but not that deep. Great minds think alike. I was looking at Orchid pots also. They would be good.
I have some orchid pots and they are harder to keep the soil in because of the drainage on the bottom outside. I've tried using coffee filters, but they aren't quit large enough for the pots I have. You will never know until you try it and see what happens for you.
