Got another catalog today...Terry had posted it. I took
one look at the website and had to order it...fantastic
plant and vegetable seeds :). The website is:
http://www.JLHudsonSeeds.net
I couldn't believe how quickly the catalogue arrived. It's
got some interesting looking veggie seeds...not my
Floramerica but ...
Has anybody received any new seeds yet?

got to find my POD cat...I've drooled over it everywhere
...now where did I put it???????
Did the lathyrus or chorizema come in?...I've checked
your list a few times but can't see them.

pam you're confusing me with someone else. We weren't talking about swapping I think that was echoes. But if there is anything on my list that you would like let me know.
Nope it wasn't swapping & I had only emailed you to tell you what I had
eyeballed...I didn't formally order any of them and I'm
sorry that I didn't confirm the order...caused alot of
confusion...

Have I received seeds...oh, yes! Star of Yelta morning glories, Indian pea(lathyrus sativus azureus), Cosmos, "Sweet Dreams", Ipomea "Carmen",White cupid's dart(Catanache), Malva, "Windsor Castle, Ipomea "Split Pink",Morning Glory "Tie Dye Blue".....to name a few and some yellowish-golden Impatiens from Veseys! Elaine Plants of Distinction seeds are wonderful, and nearly 100% strike true!

I either didn't get that email or its lost in cyberspace - a not particularly rare occurence these days. Send again and I will set some stuff aside. Thanks for the info on the seed quality Elaine - one always wonders with the first order. They certainly give very specific (and in some cases very complicated for us bears of simple mind) germination instructions.
Still continuing to battle aphids on the brugs and am reluctant to start any seeds until they are vanquished. May have to give in and use a systemic - mortal sin. Read recently about a sytemic stick to put in the soil of house/GH plants but have not seen it. Any of you know of a name?
Can yu blame to the aphis?....if you were one, would you want to be outside in our part of the world??? BRRRRRRRRRRR! Every tropical grower, right now, has an invasion of aphis! They are all over my epiphylums in the greenhouse! Get some yellow sticky cards...whitefly go to it also and thrips...have fun with the critters!
Roselaine...what kinds of epis do you have...??????
Can't blame them for coming indoors in the winter but they could stay the H off my plants; I'd give them sugar water gladly if we could make a deal. And what kind of a critter is born pregnant anyway? talk about unliberated
She's a beauty Roselaine...I'll show Dad your pics when he comes over. The one that he got from Brugcrazy was salvaged and even has some new growth now showing :D
My friend and fellow gardener, Anne, and I got together and sorted seeds last night. With all but one of the seed orders here we thought we would map out the weeks from last Feb to first June. Its official, I have been barred from ordering anything more for the next millenium and am looking for a seed orderers 12 step program. I think I could supply holes greenhouses. It is just too easy online.
You will have to show us the pics of your new babies as they develop.
I have noticed a few of the Canadian members of DG have ordered seed from out of country England, U.S.A. etc. My question are there any hidden costs that one incurs upon placing an order, would love to order from POD and a few places in the States....just wondering?
It seems to depend on your order size and who you order from. So far I have not had any orders refused by Canadian authorities because they did not have phytosanitary certificate. The larger orders (dollar value) seem to have to clear customs which means they add the gst to the order plus a $5 handling charge. Some of the small ones just seem to arrive at the door like a letter no charges at all. Can't tell you what equals small. POD delivers much faster than other orders I have had from England. Stuff from the USA seems to be taking longer this year than previously probably new mail security issues or something. Hope this helps.
I am to understand that this started at Christmas time in the mail....Look up under US Mail or Canada Post! Elaine
I believe you pay the duty and handling charges if the declared value is over 25 CDN.
