Hey flowerjunkie!!! What method are you using? Whatever it is it surely looks like it is working great for you!!! Come on share ~ he he.

Hot Springs, AR(Zone 7b)

OhioBreezy,

I put the seeds in moist paper towels then inside an unzipped baggie. The baggie is placed on the top shelf of my smallest closet, I leave the light on all the time. The heat generated by the bulb is enough to make the seeds germinated. I check on them in two or three day. If I see seeds have germinated I move the seedlings into individual pots and them put them in the GH. Sometimes I find mold forming, in this instance I remove the seeds from the baggiee and paper towel. Throw away rotted seeds, then start fresh with an new towel and new baggie and back to the closet.

Here's a example of finding rotted Yellow Butterfly Vine seeds. I have removed the good seeds from the rotted ones. The large yellow seeds on the left are still good and possibly will germinate. The seeds on the right are rotted and you can see the mold on the paper towel.

lotsadirt,

If you can try cutting sections of paper towel with a few seeds on it. I usually just lay the paper towel piece on top of the soil then sprinkle a little more soil on top of the seedling and paper towel. Its tough dealing with tiny seeds LOL

Good Luck!

GUESS WHAT?????? Just when I was starting to give up the butterfly vines seeds. I looked at them today. And we have germinated seeds!!!!!! I'm so excited. Here's a photo. I think I'll wait a couple of days before putting them in pots and then I'll make sure to put them back in the closet to make sure the temperature is controlled. Yeepppeeee!!!!! Yes. I have photo's of your babies. Check it out.

I know now. How sad. I'm so wrapped up in my computer problems that I completely overlooked the link about Glory. Is it to late to make a donation? I think its a wonderful idea.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

It's never to late. Please do. e-mail me for her addy. She only lived 20 minutes from me and was such a wonderful, generous person. I hate I didn't get to visit with her before the end. I couldn't risk exposing her to my bad cold

Oh Daisy you are the greatest. I sent you some more to try for me and a few for yourself. Everything you sent me is doing great so far. Thanks so much. Come on spring!!!!!!!!!!

Hot Springs, AR(Zone 7b)

Donna,

...I got the seeds in today's mail. I'll start them tonight. I'm ready for spring. Have to fight the urge to put stuff out. I remember last year I got two day in the high 20 that zapped alot of my newly planted perennials. I don't want that to happen this year. Although it seems we are having a rather mind winter. My amarillis are showing signs of spring. The are always the first to bloom.
