Evergreen Clematis 'Winter Beauty' (Clematis anshunensis)

does this clematis only bloom in the winter? Also how tall does it get and is it like the other clematis' as far as needing shade and frequency of water?

Hi,Davej49er.Yes, this Clematis blooms from December till January. It gets 2.5m-4m tall.

I bought the out-of-bloom Clematis at a bargain sale and planted it at the foot of a Sasanqua. I forgot all about it.

You can grow it just like other Clematises ,I think.
It is quite hardy but it might be better to keep away from the piercing wind which is likely to damage the buds and leaves.

Hi Tomtom. Your C.anshunensis glowing vigorously is beautiful! Mine is very short (about 1 m) because I cut back it over and over during the summer. I carried things too far. *blush*
Davej49er,
I added some data of this plant into PDB.I hope you find it informative.
This is mine:)

goldenfish,
This Clematis apparently glows so vigorous that you always feel like cutting it back . Your pic is so cute.
