Another small space

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

I think it's time to raise the bed in the space between the bbq patio and the fence. It's about 2' deep and 10 feet long. I can't dig here because of extended tree roots and some kind of poured concrete about 6" down. That's why presently I have mulch on the ground and placed potted plants there. The area this side of the chiminea is my summer kitchen herb garden. There is also a sky vine growing down the fence. I may let it come this way, I havent decided yet.

This area is on the west side of the house. In the afternoon we get sun from about 2 to 6pm in the summer, in winter maybe for an hour less time. The picture shown is looking south.

So my questions today are, what to retain it with (not to worry about the trees, there is enough distance to be safe), how deep and what to plant in it.

The plants in the pot are alamanda bushes and Ruellias. The ground over on this side of the house is mostly maintained as a forest floor because we can't grow grass. But this little plant area as a raised bed will be fine. I have 2 queens wreath, 1 very small seedling bleeding heart vine, a peppercorn vine, 2 banana trees (small), 1 datura plant, 3 plumeria clippings, all in pots, needing permanent homes.

Please I need some fresh organizational ideas? Thanks
Molly
