Have: Hydrangea and Beauty Berry Cuttings

Decatur, GA(Zone 7a)

In a couple of weeks or so I'll be cutting back my Annabelle and Tardiva hydrangeas and my beauty berry bushes. I've never rooted any before - just either gave them away like they were or stuck them in the ground immediately and had a flowering plant by spring. I'll be glad to root some for anyone who wants them. I've never rooted the beauty berries at all, but I'm game. Just let me know if there is an interest or not.

I love this response. The beauty berries are the purple kind. I just bought the white beauty berry this year but it isn't large enough for cuttings yet. I'm just hoping it makes it through the winter.

I haven't taken the cuttings yet. I wanted to know how many to make so that I would have enough. All 3 shrubs are quite large so I should have enough to go around.

Decatur, GA(Zone 7a)

Last night I planted 5 gallon pots with Tardiva Hydrangea cuttings (at least 12 cuttings per pot). I have traded with someone here who just wants the cuttings and not wait to have them rooted. If anyone else wants that, I can certainly do that.

I also have cuttings of white buddlea, purple buddlea, and blue mist spirea.

I am really wanting colored calla lilies, named varieties of Passifloria, shade plants, brugs, irises, black eyed susan vine, daylilies and anything that doesn't take over. I have a pretty small yard.

Thanks!

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

pins, if you have any luck with your white buddlea and blue mist spirea I am interested in those also. I will have an itemized trade list available in the spring so we can see what we can do with a trade.

Decatur, GA(Zone 7a)

Sounds great! (My dd's name is Elena.)

Irving (Dallas area), TX(Zone 8a)

pins2006, I sent you another e-mail and wanted to make sure you got it this time.

Decatur, GA(Zone 7a)

I'll check as soon as I get home. I'll send you a reply to your email and let you know.

Middle, TN(Zone 6b)

Ok Pins, we will work on it as we get closer to spring.

Good name, Elena. I really love it. My name is really Ellen but in high school Spanish class we were called by our Spanish name and my then boyfriend, now husband for 50 years, liked it and has called me that ever since. My 18 year old granddaughter is named Elena after me.

Decatur, GA(Zone 7a)

A quick funny story - my dd's best friend is named Ellen. She was adopted from Russia and her parents wanted to Americanize her name to Ellen. So Elena and Ellen are always together and Ellen is the Russian child! lol

Middle, TN(Zone 6b)

Love that! That is a popular Spanish and Russian name from what I understand.

Seattle, WA(Zone 8b)
