One To Keep

Coal Center, PA(Zone 6a)

My first 'green' seedling from a variegated mother.
One of only 3 'green' of all the many Maya, Sunset, Snowbank seeds I have sown.
Odds slim to get a green seedling as most are white and die by second leaves.
Some pods have been all white seedlings.

Odds for a 'double' via the pollen parent said rare, also (though don't really know yet ;-)

Kell, I am not one to keep written lists. lol
But I can tell you if I have it, where in the glasshouse, how big, condition, if cuttings, buds, etc. lol
Though after past fall's trading, it hs gotten a bit harder for me to do that way. HA

Not fully decided yet, but thinking the name 'Sweetheart' will be it.
For its heart shapes along the edges.

Thanks everyone.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

I am bumping this one up because it is amazing, to have a green seedling from a variegated mother and even more, its a DOUBLE!!!

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

I know Monika, isn't that amazing! When Alice told me this I had to make her repeat what she said, I thought I had heard her wrong. Wondering if, since it has a varigated parent and it is a double, any chance she might get a varigated double out of this one?

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

It all depends, what causes the variegation. Is it a genetic thing or caused by a microsorganism.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

A varigated double would be so cool

Coal Center, PA(Zone 6a)

One of my friends had a variegated double.
He sent cuttings when less experienced in how to root ..and I lost )o; Since, he lost his plant in a fluke freeze. Another of my friends still has. I hope to get another cutting when she can take.
A variegated 'double' already exists.
I have crossed Sweetheart with a number of pollens. A good 'mama' ..she makes good pods. Time will tell what she produces (o:
