Personaly I would be hibernating if my DH and kids would let me. That by the way is a beautiful pic. Im waiting sorta kinda patiently for my cuttings to hit summertime growth, these are my first so Im doing my best. Im wondering if its harder to wait when youve never seen a brug in bloom or is it harder when you know what to expect and "need" to see and smell them again.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

The waiting is half the fun!! It took almost a whole year for me to see my first bloom. I only had a few plants and I killed half of them their first winter.

My Gh got down to 40 in there last night so i don't think i want to hybernate in there I think i am going to have to put my other small heater in there what do you think? it is 20 out side right now

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

I wouldn't want it to get any colder than 40. Is the weather gonna be colder tonight?

Edgewater, MD(Zone 7a)

My GH is my house anywhere near a window. yes waiting is half the fun, like waiting for my daturas to sprout. So far only one of my cuttings keeled over on me but the others aredoing great, they are actually growing better than I thought they would, Im hoping they will grow well enough that I will need to repot soon but not holding my breath, Im just so happy I didnt kill them like I was my mom(she has black thumb syndrome). She swears I got my green thumb from her dad wich is cool with me, I would love to be able to talk to him now so I could get advise from him and show him my gardens, he had two huge veggie gardens that I loved to walk thru.
See its not so quiet now, I could talk anyones ears off. LOL

You do not need more heat, unless you are growing tender tropicals. Most brugs will do ok even with freezing temps as long as they are not exposed to freezing temps for more than a couple of hours. Even a lot of other tropicals will survive also.

Ive lost most of the leaves off of my banana once or twice before bringing it in, cant tell by looking at it now.

We need to get "livened" up through winter. Dravencat, talk all you want, we're here to listen to anything!

Beautiful bloom Sue. Which one is it?

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

That is an Ursuline seedling. I've been rummaging through old photos.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Very nice!

I love it Sue. I shut my computer down early last night because everything was so slow. I visit several forums and they were all dead. Good to wake up to something happening.

Gosh, Shirley... I should do that once in a while. Maybe I'd get some housework done around here!

That is literally one of the most lovely brug pics I have ever seen-----hope you dont mind if its my new background, and if you do---lol you might have to beat me up for it--teasin--I cry real easy. not sure about everyone else, but with school starting back, Im just struggling to catch up on house work n basketball practice and all that stuff, so by the time MY time comes around to come out n play here--well---Im just outa gas......cheryl

Im still trying to go run errands but its CCCCOOOLLLLDD outside, and I still need to go over missed spots on the walls from where we painted last week and clean something and fold clothes and plant more seeds and buy more potting soil. Well at least I took a shower last night and a long hot soak in the tub with a candle for light. mmmm so relaxing. I should give the dogs a bath too but im procrastinating on that too. Oh and I did finally mail out postage for some seeds too. Thats about half of what I should be doing, Im sure theres more I just dont want to think about it.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

I actually washed my kitchen floor yesterday. That's enough housework for me this week!

Edgewater, MD(Zone 7a)

Thats good for a week and a box of chocolate covered cherries.

everything at my house is either crunchy or sticky right now-----hard to play catch up, and its only Wednesday....

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Everything here went downhill over the holidays. Then I got 3 Thomas Kinkaid jigsaw puzzles.......don't even see the dirty house, frig, stove, I actually cooked. I like to work puzzles, so that's what I am doing!

Edgewater, MD(Zone 7a)

I am a puzzle addict too. I start I cant stop, its worse than being on the puter.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Right! Can't even walk through the puzzle room, have to stop and try to find more pieces. What's housework??
