Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

Good morning farmers. It's a bright sunny morning with big snowdrifts everywhere. Yesterday started clam but about noon the wind came up and the snow started to move. Its favorite place is our driveway. Our friend who is staying with us plowed the driveway in the morning. About 2:30 he needed to go to town, got stuck in the driveway, pulled his truck out with the tractor, plowed the driveway a second time. After dark when he was comming home he got about 2/3 of the way down the driveway and ...you guessed it, got stuck again in a big snowdrift. This morning the whole thing got plowed again and right now there is no wind so the snow is staying put, for now. The temperature was moving along with the snow yesterday, downward, and by dark it was near 0, but with the wind chill way below 0. Miserable to be out in. When I got up this morning the back porch thermometer said -12 but when my hubby looked an hour later it was -15. With no wind it felt almost balmy doing chores this morning!
The greenhouse is staying at about 54 degrees average, it goes down to 48 and up to 59. My remote monitor is really a blessing. I need to check to see how much propane is left in the tank, they're supposed to have us on a keep filled schedule. Today with the sun shining brightly the greenhouse will warm up nicely and I will go in and take a picture of the amaryllis that is blooming, it is the one called Apple Blossom. I try not to open the door when the weather is cold so I wasn't in there yesterday at all, just looked at the pretty flower through the window in the door.
Have a great day everyone, keep warm, count your blessings.
